They assist passengers, handle check-in and boarding, coordinate baggage, support aircraft turnaround, and make sure safety and service standards are met.Key ResponsibilitiesWelcome passengers and verify travel documents.Issue boarding passes and assign seats.Accept and tag baggage according to airline rules.Make boarding announcements and manage queues.Assist elderly passengers, families, VIPs, and passengers with reduced mobility.Coordinate with cabin crew and flight operations for departure readiness.Handle delays, cancellations, and rebooking support.Ensure security and safety procedures are followed.Different Areas of WorkGround staff roles may vary depending on department:Passenger ServiceCheck-in, boarding gates, arrivals assistance.Ramp / ApronMarshalling, headset communication, pushback coordination.Baggage ServicesLost & found, mishandled baggage reports.Customer Support / Help DeskFlight information and special requests.Daily DutiesReporting before flight opening time.Preparing counters and system logins.Verifying manifests and passenger loads.Closing flights and submitting reports.Skills & CompetenciesStrong communication and grooming.Customer service mindset.Ability to work in shifts, weekends, holidays.Patience in high-pressure situations.Teamwork and coordination.Basic computer knowledge.Educational Qualification10+2 or graduation (aviation/hospitality preferred).Training in customer service or airport operations is helpful.
