Job Title: Quality Head - Sheet Metal, Metal Fabrication Department: Quality AssuranceLocation: Manufacturing PlantReporting To: Plant Head / Operations HeadJob PurposeTo lead and manage the Quality function for sheet metal manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and continuous improvement in product quality and processes.Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Management & SystemsDevelop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 as applicable).Establish quality standards, procedures, and SOPs for sheet metal fabrication processes.Ensure compliance with customer quality requirements and statutory regulations.Manufacturing Quality ControlOversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection of sheet metal components.Monitor quality at all stages: cutting, bending, punching, welding, surface treatment, and assembly.Ensure use and calibration of measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, CMM, etc.).Handle customer complaints, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).Lead customer audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.Manage supplier quality, including vendor audits and incoming material quality control.Problem Solving & Continuous ImprovementLead problem-solving methodologies: 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto Analysis.Drive defect reduction, scrap control, and rework minimization initiatives.Support Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma initiatives for quality improvement.Team LeadershipLead and mentor quality engineers, inspectors, and supervisors.Conduct training on quality tools, inspection methods, and process control.Review team performance and ensure skill development.Documentation & ReportingMaintain quality records, inspection reports, control plans, PPAP/APQP documentation.Prepare MIS reports on quality performance, rejections, customer complaints, and KPIs.Required Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of sheet metal processes and fabrication techniques.Expertise in QMS standards (ISO 9001 / IATF preferred).Proficiency in GD&T, drawing interpretation, and inspection methods.Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.Ability to coordinate with production, design, and supply chain teams.Qualification & ExperienceEducation: BE / BTech / Diploma in Mechanical or Production Engineering.Experience: 2-4 years in Quality roles within sheet metal, CMC,VMC,Metal Fabrication .

Key Responsibilities Research & Development (R&D)New Product Development (NPD): Lead the formulation of new FMCG products (e.g., juices, snacks, spices) or Agri-inputs (e.g., organic fertilizers, specialized seeds).Recipe/Formulation Optimization: Work with food scientists to improve taste, shelf-life, and nutritional value while reducing production costs.Packaging Innovation: Develop sustainable and shelf-stable packaging that protects product integrity during transport in varied Indian climates. Supply Chain & Agri-SourcingBackward Integration: Collaborate with the procurement team to source high-quality raw materials directly from farmers or FPOs (Farmer Producer Organizations).Quality Standards: Define and enforce strict quality parameters for raw agri-commodities to ensure consistency in the final FMCG product.Pilot Testing: Conduct field trials for agri-products or sensory testing for food products to gather real-world data before full-scale launch. Product Strategy & MarketingMarket Mapping: Analyze consumer trends (e.g., the shift toward Organic or Clean Label products) to identify gaps in the current portfolio.Pricing Strategy: Work with the Accounts Executive and Sales Manager to determine competitive pricing based on COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) and market positioning.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all products meet FSSAI (for food) or CIBRC (for agri-chemicals/pesticides) standards and labeling requirements.
