Job Title: Skilled Fitter / Mechanical FitterJob OverviewWe are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Skilled Fitter to join our engineering and production team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, structural fitting, aligning, and installing various mechanical components, machinery, and fabricated structures. You must be proficient in reading engineering blueprints, using precision measuring instruments, and executing mechanical layouts to ensure that all assemblies meet exact structural and dimensional specifications before final welding or commissioning.Key ResponsibilitiesComponent Assembly & Fitting: Layout, position, align, and fit components together according to blueprints, engineering drawings, and shop orders.Blueprint Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, structural drawings, and mechanical symbols to plan assembly sequences.Marking & Layout: Perform precise marking, measuring, and cutting of raw materials (plates, pipes, structural beams) using manual and power tools.Machining & Edge Preparation: Use hand tools, grinders, drills, and chisels to bevel, smooth, and prepare metal edges for seamless assembly or welding.Tack Welding: Perform basic tack welding (MIG or ARC) to temporarily hold structural parts in place before final welding by certified welders.Quality & Alignment Checks: Use precision instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, spirit levels, and plumb bobs to verify alignments and ensure strict adherence to tolerances.Equipment Maintenance: Assemble, dismantle, repair, and overhaul mechanical assemblies and industrial machinery as part of preventive or breakdown maintenance.
