Job Description

a field sales & marketing executive role typically involves a blend of direct sales activities and marketing support functions, primarily conducted in the field (outside of a traditional office setting)

i. sales responsibilities:

lead generation & prospecting:

identifying and researching potential customers (businesses or individuals) within a defined territory.

cold calling, door-to-door visits, networking, and attending industry events to generate new leads.

sales presentations & demonstrations:

meeting with prospective clients to understand their needs and present product/service solutions.

conducting product demonstrations and trials to showcase features and benefits.

negotiation & closing:

discussing pricing, terms, and conditions with clients.

overcoming objections and closing sales deals to achieve targets.

account management & relationship building:

maintaining relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and identify upselling/cross-selling opportunities.

providing post-sales support and addressing client concerns.

building long-term relationships to foster loyalty and repeat business.

sales reporting & forecasting:

maintaining accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline status.

preparing regular sales reports and forecasts for management.

analyzing sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

market intelligence:

gathering information on competitor activities, market trends, and customer feedback.

sharing insights with the marketing and product development teams.

ii. marketing responsibilities (field-oriented):

promotional activities & brand awareness:

distributing marketing materials (brochures, flyers, samples) in the field.

participating in local events, trade shows, and exhibitions to promote products/services.

setting up promotional displays and conducting on-site product demonstrations.

market research (field-based):

conducting surveys and interviews with potential customers to gather feedback on products, pricing, and market needs.

identifying new market opportunities and target segments.

customer feedback collection:

gathering qualitative feedback from customers regarding their experience with the product/service and brand.

relaying this feedback to relevant internal teams (marketing, product development).

merchandising & visuals (if applicable):

ensuring proper product placement and visual merchandising at retail outlets or partner locations.

checking stock levels and ensuring product availability.

local marketing campaign support:

assisting in the execution of localized marketing campaigns.

identifying suitable locations for promotional activities.

brand advocacy:

acting as a brand ambassador, representing the company positively in all interactions.

educating potential customers about the brand's values and unique selling propositions.

iii. general responsibilities:

territory management:

effectively planning and managing sales routes and schedules within an assigned geographical territory.

optimizing time and resources for maximum efficiency.

product knowledge:

maintaining a deep understanding of the company's products/services, their features, benefits, and competitive advantages.

staying updated on new product launches and industry developments.

crm usage:

proficiently using crm (customer relationship management) software to log activities, manage leads, and track customer interactions.

collaboration:

working closely with internal teams such as marketing, customer service, and product development to ensure seamless customer experience and achieve common goals.

adherence to policies:

complying with company policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.

key skills required:
