The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and continually improving a robust Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring the highest quality standards for our diecast components from raw material to final dispatch. This leadership role demands a deep understanding of diecasting processes, advanced quality tools, and a relentless focus on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities:Quality Management System (QMS) Leadership:Strategically lead the establishment, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the plant's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with relevant international standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949 (for automotive diecasting), ISO 14001, ISO 45001, as applicable).Ensure strict adherence to all customer-specific requirements, statutory regulations, and industry best practices.Lead and manage all internal and external QMS audits, including customer audits and certification audits.Product Quality Assurance & Control:Oversee and manage quality control activities across the entire diecasting value chain: incoming raw materials (e.g., aluminum/zinc ingots, die lubricants), in-process quality checks (dimensional, visual, metallurgical), final product inspection, and packaging.Develop and implement comprehensive Quality Plans, Control Plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) specifically tailored for diecasting processes.Manage and effectively resolve all customer complaints related to quality, leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using methodologies like 8D reports, 5 Why, Fishbone diagrams, and implementing robust Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).Drive aggressive targets for reduction of internal rejections, rework, and scrap rates within the diecasting and post-diecasting operations.Process Quality & Improvement:Drive process quality improvement initiatives using statistical tools and methodologies such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (P-FMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) (crucial for automotive diecasting).Monitor and control key process parameters in diecasting to ensure consistent product quality and process stability.Lead continuous improvement projects (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean principles) to enhance overall quality performance and operational efficiency.Metrology & Inspection Management:Manage the calibration, maintenance, and verification of all inspection and testing equipment, including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), Spectrometers, Hardness Testers, Tensile Testing Machines, X-Ray machines (for porosity inspection), and other precision measuring instruments.Ensure the quality team is proficient in the proper use and interpretation of all measuring equipment.Supplier Quality Management:Establish and manage robust supplier quality assurance programs for incoming raw materials (ingots, alloys), tooling (dies), and outsourced processes (e.g., machining, surface treatment, painting) critical to diecasting quality.Conduct supplier audits, evaluate supplier performance, and drive supplier quality improvement initiatives.Team Leadership & Development:Lead, mentor, train, and develop a high-performing team of quality engineers, supervisors, and inspectors.Provide expert guidance and training on quality tools, QMS procedures, diecasting-specific quality characteristics, and defect analysis.Foster a strong, proactive quality culture throughout the entire plant and promote a first-time right mentality.Documentation & Reporting:Maintain comprehensive quality documentation, records, quality manuals, and data in compliance with QMS requirements.Prepare and present detailed quality performance reports, dashboards, and trend analyses for management reviews, customer discussions, and strategic planning.Inter-departmental Coordination:Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and R&D teams to implement quality gates, resolve quality-related issues, implement design changes, and ensure smooth new product introduction (NPI) launches.Serve as the primary quality liaison with customers, regulatory bodies, and certification agencies.
