- Supervise loading and unloading of cargo:Ensure all cargo is safely and efficiently loaded and unloaded from trucks or airplanes as per company procedures.- Maintain inventory of cargo:Keep track of all incoming and outgoing cargo, update inventory systems, and report any discrepancies or damages.- Ensure compliance with safety regulations:Monitor and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and damage to cargo, including proper handling and storage procedures.- Coordinate with vendors and transportation companies:Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and transportation companies to schedule deliveries and pickups, resolve issues, and ensure timely transportation of cargo.- Train and oversee cargo handling staff:Provide training to cargo handling staff on proper procedures and safety guidelines, and supervise their work to ensure efficiency and accuracy.Required Skills and Expectations:- Strong organizational skills to manage inventory and coordinate shipments effectively.- Attention to detail to accurately document and track cargo movements.- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with vendors, staff, and transportation companies.- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.- Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy cargo and work in a fast-paced environment.
