Core Responsibilities
A Sales Officer's role is a blend of direct selling and tactical management.
1. Business Development & Revenue Growth
Target Achievement: Meeting monthly and quarterly sales quotas consistently.
Lead Prospecting: Identifying new business opportunities through cold calling, field visits, and social selling.
Presentations: Tailoring product demonstrations to address a client's specific pain points and showing clear ROI.
2. Channel & Distributor Management
Secondary Sales: Working with retailers and distributors to ensure that stock is moving from their shelves to the end consumer.
Market Penetration: Expanding the brands reach into untapped geographic areas.
Inventory Monitoring: Tracking stock levels at the distributor level to prevent out-of-stock scenarios.
3. Market Intelligence & Reporting
Competitor Analysis: Monitoring competitor pricing, schemes, and new product launches to provide feedback to the marketing team.
Reporting: Maintaining accurate records in a CRM (like Salesforce or HubSpot) and submitting daily sales reports (DSR).
4. Leadership & Training
Mentorship: Guiding junior Sales Executives or Feet on Street (FOS) staff on-site to improve their pitch and productivity.
Conflict Resolution: Handling dealer grievances regarding payments, damaged stock, or delivery delays.
