Job Description

core responsibilities of a bde

a bde's duties are primarily focused on the initial stages of the sales pipeline—prospecting and qualifying leads—to hand off qualified opportunities to senior sales teams.

1. lead generation and qualification

prospecting: actively research and identify new market opportunities, potential customers, and key decision-makers within target companies.

outreach: initiate contact with prospects through various channels (cold calls, emails, social media, networking events) to introduce the company and its value proposition.

qualification: conduct preliminary meetings or calls to understand a prospect's needs, budget, authority, timeline, and suitability (bant qualification), ensuring they are a viable sales opportunity.

2. relationship building and strategy

pipeline management: maintain and manage a healthy pipeline of prospects, meticulously tracking progress and communication in the customer relationship management (crm) system.

target achievement: work to meet or exceed monthly and quarterly quotas for generating qualified leads, appointments, or new business contracts.

market feedback: collaborate with marketing and product teams to refine outreach strategies and product offerings based on market reception and customer feedback.

3. communication and presentation

presentation: prepare and deliver compelling introductory presentations, demonstrations, and proposals tailored to a prospect's specific business challenges.

negotiation: participate in initial negotiation discussions regarding contract terms, service scope, and pricing (though final closing is often handled by a senior account executive).

documentation: ensure all contracts, paperwork, and financial details are accurately recorded and compliant with company policy before handover to operations.
