Job SummaryThe Air Cargo Executive is responsible for managing and coordinating air cargo operations, ensuring efficient cargo handling, documentation accuracy, and compliance with airline and regulatory standards. This role involves communication with freight forwarders, shippers, customs, and internal teams to ensure smooth cargo movement from acceptance to final delivery.Key Responsibilities1. Cargo Handling & OperationsOversee cargo acceptance, screening, build-up, and break-down processes.Ensure timely and safe loading and unloading of cargo.Monitor cargo movement, storage, and inventory within the warehouse.Coordinate special cargo handling (DG, perishables, valuables, AVI, pharma).2. Documentation & CompliancePrepare, verify, and process cargo documents (AWB, HAWB, MAWB, manifests).Ensure compliance with IATA, airline, and customs regulations.Handle E-AWB and e-freight processes.Maintain records of inbound/outbound shipments and irregularity reports.3. Customer Service & CoordinationCommunicate with shippers, consignees, freight forwarders, and logistics partners.Provide shipment updates and resolve customer queries.Handle discrepancies, delays, damages, or lost cargo cases.Liaise with customs, CHA agents, warehouse teams, and security personnel.4. System & ReportingUse cargo management systems (e.g., Cargospot, SkyChain, or airline DCS).Update shipment data, tracking information, and daily operational reports.Ensure accurate weight, labels, and cargo information in the system.5. Safety & SecurityFollow IATA regulations, DGR policies, and airport safety standards.Ensure proper handling of Dangerous Goods and restricted shipments.Report security concerns or operational hazards promptly.6. Operational Planning & SupportAssist with cargo capacity planning and flight load coordination.Support on-time performance by ensuring cargo readiness before departure.Provide assistance during peak loads and flight disruptions.Required Skills & QualificationsSkillsStrong knowledge of air cargo operationsUnderstanding of import/export proceduresExcellent communication and customer service skillsGood coordination and multitasking abilitiesKnowledge of Dangerous Goods Regulations (preferred)Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, cargo systems)QualificationsGraduate in any discipline (preferred: logistics, supply chain, commerce)IATA Cargo Introductory Course (advantage)DGR certification (added advantage)Experience in cargo, warehouse, or logistics operations preferredWork EnvironmentShift-based work, including nights, weekends, and holidaysWarehouse and airside working environmentPhysical activity may be required (inspection, supervision of cargo)Fast-paced, deadline-driven atmosphere
