Key ResponsibilitiesRoot-Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA): Act as the final escalation point for recurring, complex engineering failures, tooling defects, and machinery breakdowns. Use systematic tools (such as 8D, Shainin, or FMEA) to diagnose issues and implement permanent corrective actions.Process Optimization & Capability ($C_p / C_pk$): Evaluate and stabilize shop-floor manufacturing processes. Conduct statistical process control (SPC) analyses to minimize variations, improve cycle times, and elevate machine efficiency (OEE).Advanced Technology Integration: Lead the deployment of advanced automation, specialized jigs/fixtures, or upgraded CNC/VMC programming techniques. Partner with corporate R&D and external equipment vendors during new product introduction (NPI) phases.DFM & Toolroom Coordination: Review engineering blueprints and CAD data to provide expert Design for Manufacturing (DFM) feedback, ensuring components are optimized for machining, casting, stamping, or fabrication without excessive tool wear.Standardization & SOP Design: Formulate precise technical Work Instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and strict machine parameter checklists to institutionalize technical knowledge across shift operations.Technical Upskilling: Conduct masterclass training sessions for junior production engineers, operators, and maintenance technicians on technical topics like machine tolerances, metallurgy, and advanced hydraulics/pneumatics.
