Key Responsibilities of an HR Recruiter
The role involves a mix of strategic planning, sourcing, and administrative tasks:
1. Planning and Sourcing 🎯
Collaborate with Hiring Managers: Work closely with department heads to understand specific staffing needs, job requirements, and team dynamics.
Design and Update Job Descriptions: Create clear, accurate, and appealing job descriptions that outline duties, required skills, and qualifications.
Develop Recruitment Strategy: Determine the best channels and methods for finding candidates (., job boards, social media, professional networks, employee referrals).
Source Candidates: Actively search for and engage with potential candidates, including both active applicants and passive talent who aren't currently job-seeking.
2. Screening and Evaluation 📝
Screen Resumes and Applications: Review incoming applications to shortlist candidates whose qualifications match the job requirements.
Conduct Interviews: Perform initial phone or video screenings and in-depth interviews to assess candidates' skills, experience, communication abilities, and cultural fit.
Coordinate Interviews: Schedule and facilitate interviews between candidates and the hiring team.
Administer Assessments: Oversee any necessary aptitude tests, skills evaluations, or assignments.
Check References: Conduct background and reference checks for final candidates.
3. Hiring and Onboarding 👋
Manage Offer Negotiation: Extend job offers, negotiate salary and benefits packages, and handle acceptance/rejection communication.
Maintain Applicant Tracking System (ATS): Ensure all candidate data, interview feedback, and status updates are accurately recorded in the recruiting database.
Support Onboarding: Act as a consultant and guide to new hires, helping to ensure a smooth transition into the company and their new role.
4. Strategic Duties 📈
Build an Employer Brand: Represent the company positively to all candidates, enhancing the organization's reputation as an attractive workplace.
Track Metrics: Monitor key recruiting metrics such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and quality of hire to continuously optimize the recruitment process.
