role overview
the business development manager (bdm) will focus exclusively on acquiring and nurturing b2b customers - food & beverage manufacturers, horeca (hotels, restaurants, caterers), confectionery producers, sweet manufacturers, and large-scale organizations. the bdm will be responsible for building strong relationships with procurement teams, chefs, and r&d departments to drive long-term partnerships and revenue growth.
roles and responsibilities
1 client acquisition & relationship management
identify and target new b2b customers in f&b, horeca, bakery, dairy, confectionery, and institutional catering segments.
conduct presentations, tastings, and product demos to highlight product portfolio.
2 sales strategy & revenue growth
develop account-specific sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
drive cross-selling and upselling of products (colors, essences, powders, additives).
track and analyze competitor activities in the b2b space.
3 market development
map potential b2b customers across target industries and geographies.
participate in industry events, exhibitions, and conferences to generate new leads.
share market insights with management to guide product development.
4 operations & client support
coordinate with production, qc, and logistics teams to ensure smooth order execution.
work closely with accounts for timely payments and credit control.
handle client complaints/escalations with prompt resolution to ensure trust and retention.
5 reporting & crm
update crm with lead progress, client interactions, and order status.
provide weekly/monthly reports on leads, closures, and revenue performance.
maintain accurate client records for strategic decision-making.
qualifications & skills
graduate in food technology, chemistry, business administration, or marketing. mba preferred.
excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
proven ability to build long-term relationships with corporate clients.
self-motivated, target-driven, and willing to travel extensively.
strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
