Data Operator in a bank is responsible for accurately entering, updating, verifying, and maintaining banking data in the banks systems and databases. This role ensures that financial and customer information is correctly captured and available for processing by other teams.
Typical Responsibilities
Data Entry & Maintenance
Enter customer details (account opening forms, KYC documents, loan applications, etc.)
Update records in core banking systems
Maintain daily logs and electronic documentation
Verification & Quality Control
Check accuracy and completeness of data before entry
Correct errors and inconsistencies
Ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory standards
Report Preparation
Generate routine reports (daily/weekly/monthly)
Assist other teams (operations, audit, risk) with required data
Document Handling
Scan and digitize physical documents
Organize files in proper digital folders
Ensure secured storage of sensitive data
Support Operations Teams
Coordinate with branches or departments for data clarification
Support reconciliation processes
Skills & Qualifications Required
Educational Requirements
Minimum: 10+2 (High School)
Preferred: Graduate (BA, BCom, BBA, BCA)
Key Skills:
Typing speed (3040+ WPM)
MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook
Attention to detail
Basic knowledge of banking software
Good communication skills
Ability to work under deadlines
