Role OverviewWe are looking for a seasoned Die Tooling professional to lead both Production Tooling and New Product Development (NPD) functions. This role demands strong technical depth, a process-driven mindset, and leadership capability to ensure robust tooling systems, high productivity, and seamless new product launches.The incumbent will be responsible for end-to-end tooling lifecycle management including design validation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, documentation, process standardization, and continuous improvement.Core Technical Competencies (Common for Both Roles) Extensive expertise in:o Plastic Moulding Toolso Sheet Metal Toolingso Precision Dies & Tooling Controlso Forging Dies Strong understanding of tool materials, heat treatment, GD&T, and tolerances Hands-on experience in tool trials, debugging, and process stabilization Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and cost optimization Strong focus on process-driven tooling management and standardizationA. Die Tooling - ProductionKey Responsibilities Lead overall management of production dies, moulds, and fixtures Implement and drive preventive maintenance (PM) systems for all tooling to minimize breakdowns Handle troubleshooting and root cause analysis of tooling issues Ensure timely repair, refurbishment, and modification of tools Maintain high uptime through effective breakdown management and quick response systems Monitor and improve tool life, efficiency, and productivity Ensure proper die maintenance documentation including maintenance logs, breakdown records, PM checklists, tool history cards, and modification recordsProcess & System Orientation Coordinate with vendors for tool repair, modification, and development Develop and strengthen in-house tool room capabilities Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, cost, and delivery Ensure optimal balance between outsourced and in-house tooling activitiesB. Die Tooling - New Product Development (NPD)Key Responsibilities Lead tooling development for all new product initiatives from concept to SOP (Start of Production) Conduct feasibility analysis in coordination with design and engineering teams Oversee design validation, tool manufacturing, trials, and final approval Ensure smooth tool trials, debugging, and process stabilization Drive adherence to project timelines, quality benchmarks, and cost targets Support seamless handover from NPD to production Maintain complete tool development and validation documentation including design changes, trial reports, approval records, and lessons learned
