About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, target-oriented, and customer-focused Travel Sales Executive to join our growing travel agency.

The candidate will be responsible for generating new leads, understanding customers' travel requirements, recommending suitable tour packages, selling domestic and international holidays, and handling flight ticket bookings. The role involves managing the complete sales cycle - from lead generation and initial enquiry to quotation, follow-up, booking confirmation, payment collection, and post-sales customer support.

The ideal candidate should have strong communication and convincing skills, a passion for travel, and the ability to convert enquiries into confirmed bookings.

Key Responsibilities

1. Travel Sales & Business Development

Generate and convert leads for domestic and international tour packages.

Handle enquiries received through phone calls, WhatsApp, email, website, social media, walk-ins, referrals, and other channels.

Understand customers' travel preferences, budget, destination, duration, and requirements.

Recommend suitable holiday packages, destinations, hotels, activities, transfers, and other travel services.

Prepare customized travel itineraries and quotations based on customer requirements.

Negotiate with customers while maintaining company pricing and profitability.

Follow up regularly with prospective customers to convert enquiries into confirmed bookings.

Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.

Upsell and cross-sell additional travel services such as hotels, sightseeing, transfers, travel insurance, activities, visa assistance, and other travel-related products.

2. Flight Ticket Sales & Ticketing

Handle domestic and international flight booking enquiries.

Search and provide suitable flight options based on customer's preferred dates, timings, airlines, and budget.

Make flight reservations and issue tickets using the company's booking systems/GDS or other applicable platforms.

Handle flight changes, cancellations, reissues, refunds, and related customer requests.

Explain airline rules, baggage allowances, cancellation policies, fare conditions, and other applicable terms to customers.

Maintain accurate records of bookings, ticket details, payments, and customer information.

3. Lead Generation

Proactively generate new business through calls, WhatsApp, social media, referrals, networking, and other channels.

Conduct outbound calls to potential customers and follow up on existing enquiries.

Maintain and regularly update the company's lead database/CRM.

Identify new customer segments and potential business opportunities.

Develop relationships with repeat customers and generate referrals.

Follow up with old, inactive, and previously quoted leads to identify potential sales opportunities.

4. Customer Relationship Management

Build strong and professional relationships with customers.

Understand customer expectations and provide personalized travel solutions.

Respond promptly to customer enquiries and requests.

Maintain regular communication with customers throughout the booking process.

Ensure a smooth customer experience from enquiry through completion of the trip.

Handle customer concerns professionally and coordinate with internal teams or suppliers when required.

Encourage customer feedback, repeat bookings, and referrals.

5. Quotation & Itinerary Management

Prepare professional and accurate travel quotations.

Create customized itineraries based on customer requirements and budget.

Coordinate with hotels, airlines, transport providers, DMCs, and other suppliers to obtain rates and availability.

Ensure quotations accurately reflect inclusions, exclusions, taxes, fees, terms, and conditions.

Revise itineraries and quotations based on customer feedback while protecting company margins.

6. Sales Follow-Up & Conversion

Maintain a systematic follow-up schedule for all leads.

Track enquiries from the initial stage through final conversion.

Identify reasons for lost enquiries and work on improving conversion rates.

Prioritize high-potential leads and time-sensitive enquiries.

Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales status.

Work toward improving enquiry-to-booking conversion and average booking value.

7. Payments & Documentation

Follow up with customers for advance and final payments.

Ensure bookings are confirmed only after receiving the required payments and documentation.

Maintain accurate booking and payment records.

Coordinate with accounts/admin teams regarding invoices, receipts, refunds, and outstanding payments.

Ensure all required customer travel documents are collected and properly recorded.

8. Post-Sales Support

Coordinate with operations and suppliers to ensure confirmed travel arrangements are delivered as promised.

Assist customers with reasonable pre-travel queries and booking-related issues.

Coordinate changes or amendments to itineraries where required.

Maintain relationships with customers after their trip to encourage repeat business and referrals.

The candidate will be expected to contribute toward measurable sales and business-development goals, including:

Monthly and quarterly sales revenue

Flight ticket sales

Number of qualified leads generated

Lead-to-booking conversion rate

Number and value of confirmed bookings

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification preferred.

1-5 years of experience in travel sales, ticketing, tourism, or a related field preferred.

Freshers with strong communication and sales skills may also be considered.

Good knowledge of domestic and/or international travel destinations.

Experience selling tour packages and/or flight tickets will be an advantage.

Familiarity with airline ticketing systems/GDS such as Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre, or similar platforms is preferred for ticketing-focused candidates.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Good negotiation and convincing skills.

Strong follow-up and customer-handling abilities.

Comfortable making outbound sales calls.

Ability to work with sales targets and incentives.

Basic computer skills, including MS Office/Google Workspace, email, WhatsApp, and CRM systems.

Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to multitask and manage multiple customer enquiries simultaneously.
