A Visa Counselor assists clients with the complex process of obtaining visas for travel, study, or work abroad. They evaluate applicant eligibility, prepare and review documentation, offer guidance on immigration laws, and act as liaisons between applicants and embassies/consulates to ensure compliance and increase approval chances.
Key Responsibilities
Advisory: Consult clients on appropriate visa categories, requirements, and procedures.
Documentation: Review, prepare, and verify applications, financial documents, and supporting documents for accuracy.
Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changing immigration laws and embassy regulations.
Liaison: Coordinate with consulates, embassies, and immigration authorities.
Interview Preparation: Conduct mock interviews and guide clients on visa interviews.
Case Management: Maintain, update, and track client files and application statuses.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience: Previous experience in visa processing, immigration consulting, or customer service.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of visa regulations and legal procedures.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills to guide clients and interact with officials.
Attention to Detail: High accuracy in reviewing documents.
