Job Summary:
The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, managing inventory, maintaining kitchen equipment, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Kitchen Supervisor reports directly to the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Staff Supervision and Training:
o Schedule and manage kitchen staff shifts.
o Train new employees on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
o Monitor staff performance and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
2. Food Preparation and Presentation:
o Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
o Oversee the preparation of meals, ensuring timely and efficient service.
o Assist in menu planning and development, including new recipes and seasonal dishes.
3. Inventory and Supply Management:
o Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies as needed.
o Ensure proper storage and labeling of food items to prevent spoilage.
o Conduct regular inventory checks and maintain accurate records.
4. Compliance and Safety:
o Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
o Conduct regular kitchen inspections to ensure compliance with health codes.
o Address and resolve any safety or sanitation issues promptly.
5. Kitchen Maintenance:
o Ensure all kitchen equipment is in good working condition.
o Schedule and oversee regular maintenance and repairs as needed.
o Implement and maintain cleaning schedules for the kitchen and equipment.
6. Customer Service:
o Handle customer complaints or special requests in a professional manner.
o Work with front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless dining experience for customers.
o Strive to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Qualifications:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school degree or certification is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role in a kitchen or food service environment.
• Skills:
o Strong leadership and team management skills.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o Proficiency in kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
o Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
o Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:
• This role requires standing for long periods, working in a hot and fast-paced environment, and lifting heavy objects as needed.
