Dispatcher

As a Dispatcher at Orbit Trucking , you'll play a key role in daily operations: booking loads,

planning dispatch schedules, communicating with brokers and drivers, and solving problems in

real time. We're not just looking for someone to fill a role — we're looking for a strategic

Key Responsibilities

● Book loads from DAT, broker portals, and direct broker outreach

● Perform cold calling, email pitching, and relationship building to win freight

● Assign loads based on driver availability, equipment, HOS, and preferred lanes

● Coordinate with drivers and Track & Trace team for on-time deliveries

● Communicate directly with brokers, drivers, and customers throughout the shipment

lifecycle

Collaborate with accounting on lumper/detention approvals, invoicing, and rate

confirmations

● Resolve real-time issues (., delays, driver problems, cancellations) professionally and

efficiently

● Keep records accurate, up-to-date, and organized across systems

Express

A great dispatcher does more than book a load. You are expected to:

● Analyze broker behavior, market trends, and rates to identify profitable lanes

● Build long-term broker relationships, not just one-time transactions

● Use sales instinct and market knowledge to pitch BAL Express as a preferred carrier

● Understand how to navigate DAT filters: lane history, equipment type, broker score,

and pricing

● Switch strategies quickly: DAT searching, cold calls, leveraging contacts, or direct

outreach depending on market shifts

● Make decisions that optimize driver time, revenue, and fleet performance

Required Qualifications

● 1–2+ years of proven dispatching experience in . or Canadian trucking/logistics

● Strong load planning, negotiation, and broker communication skills

● Experience using DAT, load boards, TMS software, and broker portals

● Fluent in English (Punjabi is a plus)

● Skilled with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and professional email communication

● Calm under pressure, solution-driven, and highly organized

● Available full-time, with no other work commitments

● Night shift availability: 5:00 PM – 2:00 AM IST (Mon–Sat)
