An Air Cargo Executive is responsible for handling, processing, documenting, and coordinating air freight shipments. The role involves managing cargo bookings, cargo acceptance, documentation verification, warehouse operations, shipment tracking, and ensuring compliance with aviation safety and security regulations.Key Responsibilities:Cargo Acceptance & HandlingReceive cargo shipments from customers, freight forwarders, and logistics companies.Verify cargo weight, dimensions, packaging, and labeling.Inspect shipments for damage or prohibited items.Ensure proper cargo handling according to airline and airport regulations.Coordinate loading and unloading of cargo aircraft.Documentation ManagementPrepare and verify Air Way Bills (AWB).Process shipping documents, invoices, packing lists, and customs paperwork.Maintain accurate cargo records and shipment information.Ensure compliance with customs and regulatory requirements.Cargo OperationsMonitor cargo movement from acceptance to final delivery.Coordinate with airlines, freight forwarders, customs authorities, and warehouse teams.Arrange cargo storage and dispatch schedules.Track shipment status and provide updates to customers.Warehouse ManagementOrganize cargo storage areas efficiently.Maintain inventory records of stored cargo.Ensure safe handling of perishable, hazardous, and valuable goods.Follow warehouse safety procedures and security protocols.Customer ServiceAssist customers with cargo booking inquiries.Provide shipment tracking information.Resolve customer complaints and shipment issues.Explain cargo rates, policies, and procedures.Safety & ComplianceFollow aviation security regulations and airport safety standards.Ensure compliance with dangerous goods handling procedures.Adhere to airline and airport operational guidelines.Participate in security inspections and audits.Required Qualifications:10+2 (Higher Secondary) or Graduate in any discipline.Diploma or certification in Aviation, Logistics, or Cargo Management preferred.Basic computer knowledge.Knowledge of cargo documentation and logistics operations is an advantage.Required Skills:Communication and interpersonal skills.Attention to detail.Documentation and record-keeping skills.Time management and organizational abilities.Customer service orientation.Problem-solving skills.Computer proficiency (MS Office, Cargo Management Systems).Ability to work under pressure.Physical Requirements:Ability to stand for extended periods.Capability to lift and move cargo when required.Willingness to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Working Environment:Airport cargo terminals.Airline cargo offices.Cargo warehouses.Logistics and freight forwarding facilities.Salary Range (India):Fresher: 20,000 - 25,000 per monthExperienced: 25,000 - 50,000+ per monthSupervisory/Managerial Roles: 50,000 - 1,00,000+ per month

The executive ensures smooth, timely, and secure shipment handling while delivering high levels of customer service.Key Responsibilities1. Cargo Operations & CoordinationManage day-to-day air cargo import/export operations.Liaise with airlines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and ground handling agents.Plan and coordinate cargo loading, unloading, and storage operations.Monitor shipment movement and ensure timely dispatch and delivery.Handle special shipments such as perishable, valuable, or dangerous goods in compliance with IATA standards.2. Documentation & CompliancePrepare and verify all shipment-related documents including Air Waybills (AWB), invoices, packing lists, and cargo manifests.Ensure compliance with customs regulations, DGCA, IATA, and airline policies.Coordinate with clearing agents for customs clearance and documentation submission.Maintain accurate and updated shipment records for audits and reporting.3. Customer Service & CommunicationCommunicate with clients regarding shipment status, rates, and delivery timelines.Provide quotations, shipping schedules, and cargo tracking updates.Handle customer complaints or delays with prompt and professional resolution.Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers and airline partners.4. Pricing & Revenue ManagementCoordinate with airlines and consolidators for cargo space and rate negotiation.Prepare cost estimates, quotations, and billing documentation.Monitor freight rates, surcharges, and optimize cost efficiency for shipments.5. Safety & Quality ControlEnsure all cargo operations comply with safety and security standards.Verify correct labeling, packaging, and handling of cargo, especially hazardous materials.Conduct inspections to ensure proper cargo documentation and storage.6.
