ResponsibilitiesPrimary responsibilities Design and develop heavy mechanical sub-assemblies for drilling equipment including welded structures, machined components and sheet metal assemblies. Develop engineering design concepts based on functional requirements, take full ownership of assigned tasks from concept refinement through detailed design, validation to production-ready-design using SolidWorks. Perform preliminary structural validation using hand calculations and SolidWorks simulation. Co-ordinate with FEA team for detailed analysis. Ensure design complies with US engineering standards (ASME, AWS, ANSI) and manufacturing practices. Provide engineering support to manufacturing and resolve design-related production issues. Take complete accountability of technical decisions, timelines and deliverables within assigned scope. Experience supporting full product development from concept through manufacturing releaseand production support. Identify and implement design improvements to enhance structural performance, reliability andmanufacturability. Collaborate directly with US engineering leadership and cross-functional teams with minimal upstream dependency.Secondary responsibilities Develop clear, shop-floor ready drawings with proper dimensioning & tolerancing, with welding specifications, GD&T and assembly clarity. Manage drawing release, revision control in PLM system and technical documentation. Support prototype development and validation to ensure design performance and integrity.
