Major Roles & ResponsibilitiesOversee Packaging OperationsSupervise daily food packaging activities to ensure efficiency and quality.Monitor machine operations, packaging lines, and staff performance.Ensure Food Safety and HygieneImplement and enforce food safety standards (e.g. FSSAI, HACCP, ISO 22000).Ensure sanitary conditions in packaging areas and equipment.Select and Manage Packaging MaterialsChoose appropriate materials (plastic, paper, foil, etc.) based on product needs.Ensure materials meet regulatory and environmental standards.Quality ControlConduct regular checks to maintain packaging consistency, sealing, labeling, and product integrity.Investigate and resolve quality issues or non-conformities.Regulatory ComplianceEnsure all packaging meets legal labeling requirements (nutritional info, batch no., expiry date, etc.).Stay updated with government and international packaging regulations.Coordinate with Production and Supply ChainCollaborate with procurement, production, and logistics teams for timely packaging and dispatch.Plan and maintain packaging inventory levels.Optimize Packaging for Shelf Life and CostDesign or suggest packaging methods that extend product shelf life while being cost-effective.Implement sustainable or eco-friendly packaging solutions.Maintain Documentation and ReportsRecord batch packaging details, inspections, and incidents.Prepare reports on packaging efficiency, wastage, and material usage.Train and Supervise StaffTrain packaging staff on SOPs, safety, and hygiene protocols.Ensure team adherence to company policies and standards.Troubleshoot Equipment IssuesIdentify and resolve packaging machine issues.Coordinate with maintenance teams for timely repairs and servicing.
