Key responsibilities
Project management: Oversee projects from conception to completion, manage budgets and resources, and set timelines and staff needs.
Design and planning: Analyze site data, prepare detailed design plans, schematics, and technical reports, and ensure designs meet standards and are feasible.
Construction supervision: Monitor project progress on-site, ensure adherence to specifications and safety standards, and inspect completed work.
Leadership and mentoring: Lead engineering teams, delegate tasks, and train and support junior engineers.
Compliance and safety: Ensure all projects comply with government regulations, industry standards, and safety protocols.
Collaboration and communication: Coordinate with other professionals (like architects and contractors), communicate with clients and stakeholders, and present project updates.
Problem-solving: Identify and resolve complex engineering problems that arise during the planning or construction phases.
Required qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is typically required, and a master's degree can be beneficial.
Experience: A significant amount of experience is necessary, often with a minimum of a few years working as a civil engineer.
Licensure: A state professional engineer (PE) license is often required.
Skills:
