Job Title: Solar O&M Technician (Operations & Maintenance)Company: Gagare Associates (Recruiting on behalf of a leading Renewable Energy / Solar EPC Client)Location: Nashik / MIDC Industrial Zone, MaharashtraEmployment Type: Full-Time (Onsite / Field Operations)Experience Required: 1 to 4 Years in Solar PV Maintenance, Electrical Systems, or Plant O&MJob OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on, safety-conscious Solar O&M Technician to execute routine preventive maintenance, field troubleshooting, corrective repairs, and performance monitoring across commercial, industrial, and rooftop solar PV installations. The ideal candidate will have strong practical knowledge of DC/AC electrical distribution, solar string inverters, string monitoring units, module cleaning protocols, and electrical safety standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPreventive & Corrective MaintenancePerform routine preventive maintenance (PM) on solar PV modules, mounting structures, array junction boxes (AJBs), string inverters, and AC/DC distribution boards (ACDB/DCDB).Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical faults, grounding issues, blown fuses, damaged cables, and inverter tripping errors.Conduct string-level testing, including open-circuit voltage ($V_oc$), short-circuit current ($I_sc$), insulation resistance (Megger test), and continuity checks.Oversee scheduled module cleaning cycles and vegetation control to minimize soiling and shading losses.Monitoring, Testing & InspectionTrack daily generation logs and performance ratios (PR) using SCADA / IoT monitoring portals.Assist senior engineers during thermal imaging (thermography) inspections to identify hotspots, defective cells, or loose connections.Inspect transformer stations, high-voltage/low-voltage (HV/LV) switchgear, and lightning protection systems as part of plant health checks.Safety, Compliance & ReportingStrictly follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, electrical safety standards, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines during all field operations.Log daily maintenance activities, fault breakdown reports, inventory usage, and spare parts consumption in the O&M logbook / software.Coordinate grid shutdown activities and meter readings with MSEDCL / local electricity distribution authorities when required.
