Foundry & Metallurgical TestingMonitor melt quality and inoculation processes for Grey and Ductile iron.Evaluate microstructures via metallographic examination (nodularity, pearlite/ferrite ratio).Supervise mechanical testing including tensile, hardness (Brinell), and impact testing.Perform chemical analysis using optical emission spectrometers (OES) to verify grades.Inspect sand properties periodically to prevent casting defects like blowholes or scabs.Dimensional & Machining InspectionInspect machined components using CMM, vernier calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.Interpret engineering drawings featuring complex GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).Conduct NDT testing including Magnetic Particle (MPI), Dye Penetrant (DPT), and Ultrasonic (UT).Verify surface finish roughness values against customer technical delivery conditions.Quality Systems & DocumentationMaintain ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 quality management system documentation.Prepare PPAP documents including FMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow Diagrams.Issue rejection reports (NCR) and drive root cause analysis using 8D or 5-Why methods.Calibrate measuring instruments periodically to maintain gauge reliability (Gage R&R).
