responsibilities:

strategic planning: develop and implement transportation strategies that align with

company objectives and customer needs.

fleet management: oversee the maintenance and management of the company's

fleet of vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety standards.

route optimization: utilise software and data analysis to optimise delivery routes,

minimise fuel consumption, and reduce transportation costs.

vendor management: negotiate contracts with transportation and logistics

providers, ensuring cost-effective services without compromising on quality.

compliance: ensure compliance with local and international transportation

regulations and laws, including vehicle permits, licences, and insurance.

team leadership: lead and motivate a team of transportation professionals,

including drivers and logistics coordinators, to achieve operational excellence and

customer satisfaction.

risk management: identify potential risks in transportation operations and

implement strategies to mitigate them effectively.

reporting: prepare regular reports on transportation metrics, performance

indicators, and budgetary adherence for management review.

requirements:

bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration,

or a related field. master's degree preferred.

proven experience (10-15 years) in transportation management, preferably within the

steel industry.

strong leadership and decision-making skills with a focus on efficiency and

cost-effectiveness.

excellent communication and negotiation skills.
