A salesman, or sales representative, is responsible for driving revenue by identifying potential customers, presenting product solutions, negotiating terms, and closing sales. They maintain client relationships, meet sales targets, manage pipelines, and often provide post-sales support, working in either B2B or B2C environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Acquisition: Identify prospects through cold calling, networking, and following up on inbound inquiries.
Sales Process Management: Deliver product demonstrations, create proposals, negotiate pricing, and close deals.
Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records in CRM systems, prepare sales reports, and track KPIs to meet or exceed targets.
Product Expertise: Maintain in-depth knowledge of products/services to answer technical questions and address objections.
