the production head is responsible for leading the entire production function, ensuring smooth operations, high-quality output, maximum efficiency, and strict adherence to safety and food-safety standards. this role requires strong leadership, planning ability, and deep knowledge of food manufacturing processes.
key responsibilities
.oversee end-to-end production operations across all processing and packaging units
.create and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans
.ensure production targets, quality standards, and timelines are met
.lead and manage production teams: supervisors, operators, and support staff
.ensure fssai, gmp, haccp, and hygiene standards are followed
.optimize machine usage and reduce downtime
.coordinate with quality, maintenance, procurement, inventory, and dispatch departments
.monitor raw material consumption and minimize wastage
review production reports, analyze kpis, and take corrective actions
.lead process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement initiatives
.handle audits, compliance checks, and documentation
.train teams and improve skill levels across shifts
required qualifications
bachelors degree in food technology / food engineering / mechanical / industrial engineering
5 years of experience in food processing / fmcg manufacturing
strong knowledge of production planning, quality systems, sops
ability to manage large teams and multiple production lines
excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
