we are seeking an experienced and dynamic general manager (exports) to lead our export operations, business development, and strategic growth initiatives.
the ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing export functions, international sales, and team leadership.
key responsibilities:
strategic planning:
develop and implement the company’s overall export and business strategy.
identify and prioritize target markets through research and analysis.
set export sales targets and design strategies to achieve them.
create and manage budgets for export and international business operations.
operations management:
oversee the entire export process from procurement to final delivery.
ensure compliance with export laws, trade regulations, and quality standards.
manage logistics, warehousing, transportation, and customs clearance.
negotiate effectively with suppliers, international buyers, and freight forwarders.
sales & marketing:
build and maintain strong relationships with international clients and partners.
develop and execute marketing strategies for global markets.
represent the company at trade fairs, exhibitions, and conferences.
conduct market research, monitor trends, and analyze competitor activities.
team management:
lead, guide, and motivate a team of export professionals.
provide coaching, performance feedback, and training for development.
drive efficiency and accountability to meet organizational goals.
financial management:
monitor export revenue, profitability, and cost control.
manage export financing, foreign exchange, and credit risk.
ensure timely invoicing, documentation, and payment collection.
relationship management:
build strong relationships with government agencies, financial institutions, and trade associations.
represent the organization in international business forums and meetings.
qualifications & skills:
bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, international trade, or related field.
5–10 years of experience in export management or international business.
strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
excellent understanding of export documentation, logistics, and compliance.
proficiency in ms office and erp systems preferred.
