As a Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the quality standards of our products and processes. Your main responsibilities will include:- **Quality Assurance**: Conduct regular inspections and audits of products and processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.- **Testing Protocols**: Develop and implement testing protocols to evaluate product quality and reliability. You will identify root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.- **Documentation**: Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, test results, and corrective actions taken. This documentation is essential for tracking improvements and ensuring accountability.- **Collaboration**: Work closely with production and engineering teams to communicate quality standards and resolve issues effectively. Teamwork is vital for enhancing product quality.- **Training**: Provide guidance and training to production staff about quality standards and procedures, ensuring everyone understands their role in maintaining quality.To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a Diploma in a related field and have 2 to 3 years of experience in quality engineering. A keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills are essential. ROLE OVERVIEWThe Quality Control Engineer will be responsible for incoming material inspection, in-process quality checks, and finished laminate testing across the CCL manufacturing plant. This role requires deep familiarity with IPC standards, raw material specifications, and laminate test procedures.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESIncoming Material Inspection- Inspect and qualify incoming glass fabric: weave style, GSM, thickness, width, defects (filling breaks, knots, weave distortions)- Test incoming ED copper foil: thickness (oz/m), surface quality, oxidation, bond strength- Inspect prepreg for resin content, flow, gel time, and volatile content- Maintain raw material test records and release/rejection documentationIn-Process Quality Control- Monitor treater line output: resin pickup %, volatile content, and prepreg flow characteristics- Check dimensional parameters during press operation: thickness tolerance, bow, twist- Track press cycle parameters and correlate with quality outcomesFinished Laminate Testing- Conduct peel strength testing per IPC-TM-650 methods- Perform Tg measurement using DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) or TMA- Measure dielectric constant (Dk) and dissipation factor (Df) per IPC standards- Conduct thermal stress testing (solder float / thermal shock) for reliability evaluation- Test surface finish, dimensional accuracy, and appearance inspection of finished laminatesSystems & Documentation- Maintain quality records, SPC charts, COA (Certificate of Analysis), and NCR logs- Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for recurring defects- Support customer audits, IPC conformance documentation, and lab accreditation activitiesCANDIDATE PROFILEExperience- 3-10 years in quality control in CCL, PCB, composites, or laminates manufacturing- Hands-on lab testing experience with laminate and copper foil characterisation- Working knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-4101, IPC-TM-650 test methods)Technical Skills- Proficiency with instruments: DSC, TMA, peel tester, LCR meter, impedance analyser- Knowledge of glass fabric weave classifications and defect identification- Familiarity with UL 94, IPC-4101C, and halogen-free laminate standards- Experience with SPC tools and quality management systems (ISO 9001)Education- B.E. / B.Tech in Chemical, Polymer, Electronics, or Materials EngineeringCritical Requirement: Must be familiar with: IPC-4101 laminate specifications, IPC-TM-650 test methods, and standard lab procedures for peel, Tg, Dk/Df, and thermal stress testing.REPORTING & LOCATIONReports To Plant Head / QA ManagerLocation Plant Site / QC Lab, India
