Seeking for a motivated individual to join our team as a Merchant. You'll handle critical back-office tasks, support merchandising, quality inspections, and our procurement processes. You will have the opportunity to grow within the company and take on more responsibilities.Key Responsibilities:Merchandising: activities such as product selection, pricing strategies, tracking product samples, prototypes, and quality checks etc.Quality Inspections: Conduct quality check to ensure products meet our standards and specifications.Team and Project Management: Work in collaboration and contribute to project management tasks, ensuring deadlines are met.Procurement: Support the procurement process by researching suppliers, negotiating contracts, communicating design requirements and specifications to suppliers and managing supplier relationships.Qualities We Are Looking For:Adaptability: We value candidates who are adaptable and eager to learn as this role involves gradual growth within the company. Merchandising: A basic understanding of merchandising concepts, product knowledge, market trends and negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers.Problem-Solving Mindset : Capacity to identify issues and proactively propose solutions and great attention to detail, especially in procurement tasks. Team Player: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, basic project management skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills.Microsoft 365 Skills: Utilize Microsoft 365 tools for documentation, communication, and data analysis.Experience in procurement processes, especially Home Furnishing department is highly regarded.

ResponsibilitiesPlan and develop merchandising strategies that balance customers expectations and companys objectivesAnalyse sales figures, customers reactions and market trends to anticipate product needs and plan product ranges/stockCollaborate with buyers, suppliers, distributors and analysts to negotiate prices, quantities and time-scalesMaximise customer interest and sales levels by displaying products appropriatelyProduce layout plans for stores and maintain store shelves and inventoryForecast profits/sales and plan budgetsMonitor stock movement and consider markdowns, promotions, price changes, clear outs etcBuild constructive customer relationships and team with channel partners to build pipeline and close dealsRemain up to date with industrys best practices
