Maintains glassware by picking-up, cleaning, washing, sterilizing, and distributing. Examining and analyzing cells, tissues and blood by collecting samples. For example, collecting blood samples to conduct blood tests. Performing tests to look for microorganisms, parasites or bacteria in body fluids and blood. Making specimens or samples to examine the count of cells in blood and abnormal cells in blood or body fluids. Documents information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books. Enhances laboratory and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Providing support and reassurance to patients, taking into account their physical and psychological needs. Ensuring that equipment is regularly checked for malfunctions and any faults are reported. Responding to telephone enquiries relating to patients, lab requests, x-rays, prescriptionrequests etc. Co-ordinating appointments for specialist referrals, x-rays lab testing, etc. and conveyingpertinent instructions and information to the patient. Completing and co-ordinating consent forms and day sheets. Performing other related duties within the clinic as may be assigned.
