Responsible for maintaining and improving the overall pre-analytical, analytical and postanalyticaloperations within the laboratory. Responsible for the implementation of the Quality Management System and Quality Policywithin the laboratory. Accountable to ensure that sufficient resources are available to provide medical laboratoryservices, that meets the end requirements of the users. Implementation of a safe laboratory environment in compliance with good practice andapplicable requirements. To ensure the provision of clinical advice with respect to the choice of examinations, use of theservice and interpretation of examination results. Selection and monitoring of referral laboratories and monitoring the quality of their service. Addressing complaints, requests and suggestions from the staff/ users of laboratory service (s). Designing and implementation of a contingency plan to ensure essential services are availableduring emergency situations. Responsible for liaison with external parties such as certification bodies and consultants. Authorized to issue, review and amend the Quality Manual. Authorized to release patient reports and issue amended reports. To handle patient & doctor queries for the report released ensuring they resolved smoothly
