Key Responsibilities
The duties of a Quality Engineer depend heavily on whether they are in Manufacturing (like at Voltkon or T&T Infra) or Software (Tech).
A. System & Process Design
Developing Quality Standards: Establishing the benchmarks for what a perfect product looks like.
Designing Test Protocols: Creating the step-by-step methods used to inspect raw materials, in-process goods, or software code.
Risk Management: Identifying potential points of failure early (using tools like FMEA) and designing fail-safes.
B. Auditing & Compliance
Internal Audits: Regularly checking if the team is following the ISO 9001 or IATF standards.
Supplier Quality: Working with vendors to ensure the parts they send meet your company's high standards.
C. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
Root Cause Analysis (RCA): When something goes wrong, a QE doesn't just fix it€”they find out why it happened using the 5 Whys or Fishbone Diagrams.
CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions): Implementing permanent fixes so the same mistake never happens twice.
Lean & Six Sigma: Using statistical data to reduce waste and improve the speed of production.
