Job Description

Penguin Consultants is hiring a Production Supervisor for an established Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) in the automobile industry. The company caters to renowned automotive clients, including Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., Volvo Eicher Ltd., Tata Motors, and other reputed automobile manufacturers.

The selected candidate will be responsible for supervising the manufacturing of automotive components, ensuring smooth production operations, maintaining quality standards, and achieving daily production targets.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise day-to-day production activities related to the manufacturing of automotive parts and components.

Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to production plans, schedules, and daily targets.

Allocate work to operators and shop-floor personnel to ensure efficient utilization of manpower.

Ensure that automotive components are manufactured according to prescribed quality standards and specifications.

Coordinate with the Quality, Maintenance, and Stores departments to resolve production-related issues.

Monitor machine utilization, production output, and material availability.

Identify production bottlenecks and support corrective actions to minimize downtime and wastage.

Ensure compliance with workplace safety procedures and housekeeping standards.

Maintain production records, shift reports, and other relevant manufacturing documentation.

Monitor rejection rates, rework, and process deviations, and report issues to the concerned department.

Ensure that production activities are completed within the specified timelines and quality requirements.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.

1-5 years of experience in production or manufacturing operations.

Experience in automotive component manufacturing will be an advantage.

Knowledge of production processes, shop-floor operations, and quality standards.

Ability to supervise operators and coordinate daily production activities.

Basic knowledge of production reporting, material handling, and machine operations.

Good problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and meet production targets.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates with experience in automobile or auto-component manufacturing will be preferred.

Practical understanding of shop-floor management and production planning.

Ability to maintain production discipline, quality, and workplace safety.

Salary and Employment Details

Salary: ₹20,000-₹30,000 per month, depending on experience and suitability.

Location: Mohali, Punjab.
