Job Summary

We are looking for skilled Electrical Draftsmen/Drafters to join our Electrical Design team. The candidates will be responsible for preparing accurate electrical drawings, layouts, schematics, and design documentation based on project requirements and engineering inputs.

The Senior Electrical Drafter will be responsible for handling projects independently, reviewing drawings, coordinating with engineers and other disciplines, and guiding junior drafting team members.

Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Drafting & Design

Prepare detailed electrical drawings and layouts using AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software.

Prepare electrical power distribution layouts, lighting layouts, and electrical services drawings.

Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and schematic drawings.

Prepare cable routing, cable tray, containment, and electrical equipment layouts.

Prepare electrical room layouts and equipment arrangement drawings.

Prepare load schedules and other electrical design documentation based on engineering inputs.

Develop drawings as per project specifications, applicable standards, and client requirements.

Make revisions to drawings based on engineer/client comments.

Coordination

Coordinate with Electrical Engineers, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, ELV, and Architectural teams.

Ensure electrical drawings are properly coordinated with other MEP services.

Identify clashes and discrepancies in drawings and communicate them to the concerned engineer.

Attend design coordination meetings whenever required.

Drawing Quality & Documentation

Ensure drawings are accurate, clear, properly dimensioned, and presented according to company standards.

Maintain proper drawing numbering, revision control, and documentation.

Review drawings before submission to ensure errors and omissions are minimized.

Prepare drawings for client review and approval.

Incorporate comments received from clients and consultants.

Additional Responsibilities - Senior Electrical Drafter

Independently handle electrical drafting requirements for projects.

Review and check drawings prepared by junior team members.

Guide and train junior Electrical Draftsmen.

Coordinate directly with engineers and project teams regarding drawing requirements.

Ensure drawings are completed within project timelines.

Assist the design team in resolving drafting and coordination issues.

Maintain consistency and quality across all project drawings.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and electrical drafting.

Good understanding of electrical layouts and MEP services.

Knowledge of electrical symbols, standards, and drawing conventions.

Ability to understand engineering drawings and design inputs.

Good knowledge of MS Office and Excel.

Ability to work with multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Skills - Senior Position

Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical drafting/design.

Strong experience in building services/MEP projects.

Experience handling large-scale commercial, industrial, residential, or hospitality projects.

Ability to independently prepare and review complete electrical drawing packages.

Experience coordinating with multiple MEP disciplines.

Knowledge of Revit MEP/BIM will be an added advantage.

Candidate ProfileJunior Electrical Drafter - 1 Year Experience

Minimum 1 year of relevant electrical drafting experience.

Should have good knowledge of AutoCAD.

Should be willing to learn and work closely with the Electrical Design team.

Good attention to detail and willingness to take responsibility for assigned drawings.

Senior Electrical Drafter - 10 Years Experience

Minimum 10 years of relevant electrical drafting experience.

Should be capable of independently handling electrical drafting requirements.

Should have strong knowledge of electrical building services and MEP coordination.

Should be capable of reviewing drawings and guiding junior team members.

Should have good communication and project coordination skills.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Accuracy and quality of electrical drawings.

Timely completion of drawings.

Number of drawing errors/revisions.

Effective coordination with other MEP disciplines.

Compliance with project/client requirements.

Proper drawing documentation and revision control.

Ability to meet project deadlines.

Note: Candidates should be comfortable working in a professional MEP consultancy environment and handling multiple project requirements as per deadlines.
