job purpose:
to lead and optimize the ethanol production process, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations while achieving production targets, quality standards, energy optimization, and statutory compliance
key responsibilities:
process & production management
oversee end-to-end ethanol production processes including milling, liquefaction, saccharification, fermentation, distillation, dehydration, and ddgs.
ensure achievement of daily/monthly production targets with optimal yield and minimal losses.
monitor and improve process efficiency, conversion ratios, steam & power consumption.
analyse process deviations and implement corrective & preventive actions (capa).
operational excellence & optimization
drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance throughput, yield, and energy efficiency.
implement standard operating procedures (sops) and best industry practices.
coordinate with maintenance for planned shutdowns, breakdown analysis, and process reliability.
quality & compliance
ensure compliance with bis, omc, excise, pollution control board (pcb), and other statutory norms.
maintain product quality as per ethanol specifications for blending (ebp).
support audits (internal, statutory, excise, and customer audits).
safety, health & environment (she)
ensure strict adherence to process safety, ethanol handling, loto, ptw, hazop, and emergency response systems.
promote a strong safety culture across operations.
ensure environmental compliance for effluent treatment, spent wash management, zld systems.
people & team management
lead, mentor, and develop process engineers, chemists, shift in-charges, and operators.
plan manpower, training, and skill development for operational excellence.
foster cross-functional coordination with maintenance, utilities, quality, and commercial teams.
cost & performance management
monitor process kpis, operating costs, consumables, chemicals, and yield parameters.
support budgeting, cost control, and techno-economic analysis.
contribute to capacity expansion, debottlenecking, and new technology implementation.
educational qualification:
./ chemical / mechanical / production engineering
mtech (process / chemical) preferred
experience requirements
1218 years of experience in ethanol / distillery / sugar / bio-fuel plants
minimum 5+ years in a senior process leadership role (agm / dgm / sr. manager)
