Job SummaryThe Avionics Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing, installation, and maintenance of aircraft electronic systems. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant operation of avionics equipment including communication, navigation, surveillance, and flight control systems. The engineer works closely with cross-functional teams to support system integration, troubleshooting, upgrades, and continuous improvement in aviation technology. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Development:Design, develop, and integrate avionics systems for aircraft and aerospace applications.Create system schematics, wiring diagrams, and interface control documents.Develop embedded software or hardware for avionics components.Testing & Troubleshooting:Conduct system testing, validation, calibration, and verification to ensure performance standards.Diagnose issues in avionics equipment using testing tools and propose corrective actions.Perform root cause analysis for system failures and implement preventive measures.Installation & Integration:Oversee installation and configuration of avionics systems in aircraft.Ensure seamless integration of avionics with electrical, mechanical, and flight control systems.Coordinate with manufacturing, maintenance, and flight operations teams for system implementation.Compliance & Documentation:Ensure compliance with aviation authorities (FAA, EASA, DGCA) and safety standards.Prepare technical reports, maintenance manuals, and certification documentation.Maintain accurate documentation of design changes, test results, and system configuration.Maintenance & Support:Support maintenance teams in periodic inspections, upgrades, repairs, and system checks.Provide engineering support for aircraft modifications, retrofits, and new product introductions. Required Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Skills:Strong knowledge of communication, navigation, surveillance, autopilot, and flight control systems.Expertise in embedded systems, digital/analog electronics, and circuit design.Hands-on experience with avionics protocols (e.g., ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, CAN bus).Proficiency in tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, PSPICE, Altium, Xilinx, or similar.Knowledge of aviation standards DO-178C, DO-254, RTCA, FAA/EASA guidelines.Soft Skills:Analytical and problem-solving ability with strong attention to detail.Effective communication, teamwork, documentation, and time-management skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Education & Experience RequirementsBachelors degree in Avionics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, or related field.(Preferred) Masters degree in Avionics or related specialization.Experience:Entry Level: 02 yearsMid-Level: 37 yearsSenior: 8+ years in avionics engineering or related aerospace domain Work EnvironmentMay require working in aircraft hangars, manufacturing facilities, laboratories, or test sites.Willingness to travel for project support, testing, and system installation.Must adhere to aviation safety regulations and workplace safety protocols.
