Key ResponsibilitiesMachine Setup & Calibration: Prepare and set up machines (e.g., adjusting speeds, feeds, temperatures, or replacing tooling attachments) before starting a production run according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).Production Line Operation: Run machinery continuously, ensuring raw materials are loaded properly and the output rate meets target efficiency goals.Quality Control Inspection: Regularly inspect finished components during the production run using manual measuring tools (like micrometers, vernier calipers, or go/no-go gauges) to catch structural defects early.Routine Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform basic daily maintenance tasks such as oiling gears, cleaning filters, and clearing simple material jams. Report major mechanical or electrical failures to the maintenance crew immediately.Safety & Compliance: Strictly follow all plant safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like safety shoes, glasses, and ear protection. Adhere to Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) rules during cleaning or maintenance.Production Logs: Maintain accurate shift records, including total output numbers, material scrap tracking charts, and machine downtime logs.

Job Summary:Responsible for operating conventional lathe machines to machine, repair, and finish metal components according to engineering drawings and specified tolerances.Key Responsibilities:Set up and operate lathe machines for turning, facing, boring, threading, drilling, and grooving operations.Read and interpret engineering drawings and job specifications.Measure machined components using vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges.Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per requirements.Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping.Follow workplace safety procedures and quality standards.Required Skills:Knowledge of lathe machine operations and cutting tools.Ability to read engineering drawings and use precision measuring instruments.Understanding of machining tolerances, fits, and finishes.
