CNC Machine Operator (Male)

Key Responsibilities

Set up the CNC router, secure sheets/workpieces, and set work zero, tool offsets, and cutting depth.

Select suitable router bits, collets, spindle speeds, feed rates, and cutting passes.

Read drawings, dimensions, and approved toolpaths before machining.

Perform cutting, pocketing, engraving, and 2D/3D carving as required.

Conduct trial runs and inspect the first piece before starting batch production.

Check finished dimensions, cutting quality, and consistency throughout production.

Optimise sheet layouts and machining methods to reduce wastage and production time.

Identify and resolve common issues such as tool breakage, poor finish, incorrect depth, and workpiece movement.

Carry out daily cleaning, lubrication, and basic machine checks; report maintenance needs promptly.

Maintain production, rejection, and material-consumption records.

Follow machine safety procedures and use dust extraction and appropriate protective equipment.

Coordinate with the design, assembly, and finishing teams to meet production deadlines.

Required Skills

Hands-on experience with CNC routers used for MDF, wood, or plywood.

Ability to independently handle machine setting and operation.

Knowledge of cutting tools, feeds and speeds, workholding, and toolpath checking.

Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring tools.

Basic understanding of G-code and CNC controller functions.

Strong attention to quality, material wastage, and machine care.
