HVAC Engineer Job DescriptionPosition OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and dedicated HVAC Engineer to do overall documentation design, install, and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with a strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and energy efficiency to deliver high-performance climate control solutions.Key Responsibilities System Design & PlanningPerform HVAC load calculations and equipment selection.Develop detailed system layouts, specifications, and cost estimates.Collaborate with architects and structural engineers to integrate HVAC systems into building designs. Installation & CommissioningSupervise and coordinate installation teams.Ensure systems are installed according to design and safety standards.Conduct performance testing and system calibration. Maintenance & TroubleshootingDevelop preventive maintenance schedules.Diagnose and resolve system faults and inefficiencies.Maintain documentation for service records and compliance. Energy Efficiency & ComplianceConduct energy audits and recommend sustainable solutions.Ensure all systems comply with local building codes and environmental regulations.Stay updated with emerging HVAC technologies and best practices. Reporting & DocumentationPrepare technical reports, system manuals, and client handover documents.Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, and repairs.QualificationsBachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.3 - 5 years of experience in HVAC system design and implementation.Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HAP).Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics.Familiarity with ASHRAE standards and local building codes.Excellent communication and project coordination skills.Preferred CertificationsASHRAE CertificationLEED AccreditationHVAC Technician License (as applicable)Work EnvironmentOffice-based design work with regular site visits.May require travel to project locations.Must be comfortable working in construction environments and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

A. Educational Qualification:B.E. MechanicalB. Experience:1. 5-8 years of experience in HVAC Design and Drafting.2. Experience in hotels / hospitals / office buildings / IT fit-outs/ Apartments/ Industries/ Residential/ Commercial buildings. C. Knowledge:1. Good exposure in Commercial Air conditioning systems, Operation theatres and Clinical specialties, Kitchen ventilation, Basement car park ventilation, Cleanroom air conditioning, Data centres cooling, Earth Air tunnel, Radiant Cooling, Geothermal Heating/Cooling, Refrigeration, and Central heating.2. Knowledge about system design as per NBC, ASHRAE, and ISHRAE.3. Knowledge of space planning including sizing, locating AHU rooms, and chiller plant room.D. Software Knowledge:Mandatory: Auto CAD, Proficiency in MS Office. Revit MEP Added AdvantageE. Functional Skills Requirements:1. Design Skills Requirements collection, Heat load calculation based on architectural drawings USING HAP/Excel-based tool, chiller plant room design, plan, and section drawings, Design basis report, space planning, Design new or replacement heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems specific to client needs and building specifications, centralized toilet exhaust system along with scheme/ isometric drawing, ventilation system for the basement car park/ services areas/ kitchens, Duct sizing design, chilled water piping design (sizing, layout and scheme along with associated components), Refrigerant piping design for DX and VRF systems (sizing, layout and scheme).2. Drawing Skills 2D drawings Schematic / single line drawings, detailed sections / elevations as applicable3. Documentation Preparation of Material Take of Sheets, Bill of Quantities, Technical specifications, budgetary estimates4. Project Execution Responding to RFIs, Quality Reports, Material and drawing approvals.5. Responsible for the project from the design stage to execution and completion of the project at site. 6.
