Smart Solutions is looking for a business minded individual with experience in Cost Engineering, Cost Modeling to join the team as a Cost Engineer. This position required the right candidate the ability to interface with various functions within Nexteer as well as with suppliers/Clients. The ideal candidate will have experience in Cost Modeling and an Engineering related discipline. This position will be involved with engineering and manufacturing functions and be responsible for providing detailed costing data to aid in the procurement of parts in Global Supply Chain. This position could be located in India, Pune MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Determine cost estimate targets during the design and/or procurement processes, recommending cost effective solutions. Utilize cost methodologies and tools and appropriate software models and packages to prepare and maintain reliable and accurate data. Establish cost estimates of production processes and tooling costs and review alternatives or put forward recommendations for improvement. Support/Develop cost models globally for Customers supplier base, under the guidance of the Managers for related commodities Support the Managers with costing data used for negotiations with suppliers to get them to an open book relationship. Maintenance of the models as frequent as required, always obtaining the supplier agreement on the updated model, and assuring alignment with the appropriate Manager Support the Manager in the development of the cost models, discussions with the suppliers and to improve efficiencies and eliminate waste to become more competitive. Support as needed the evaluation of the validity of commercial quotes for engineering changes through the use of cost models. Participate in core and non-core training to increase personal and professional development.

Candidate would be responsible for Product cost estimation for various products. Should have good engineering background. Should be able to Benchmark and compare cost for suppliers and help in sourcing negotiations. Will require traveling to supplier locations
