Required Skills & QualificationsEducation: Typically an ITI (Machinist, Turner, or Fitter) or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.Technical Knowledge:Ability to read 2D Engineering Drawings and understand GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).Familiarity with machine controls like Fanuc, Siemens, or Mazak.Basic understanding of G-codes (geometry) and M-codes (machine functions).Physical Stamina: The ability to stand for long shifts (812 hours) and handle heavy metal workpieces.

Job Summary:The CNC Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and performing basic maintenance on Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines (e.g., Lathes, Mills, Grinders, Routers) to produce high-quality metal or plastic components according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires precision, attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Responsibilities:Machine Setup: Load and unload raw materials and finished parts onto the CNC machine. Install and adjust machine tools, jigs, and fixtures.Program Loading & Editing: Load CNC programs into the machine. Make minor edits to programs (e.g., offsets, feed rates, speeds) as necessary to optimize cutting conditions and ensure part quality, under supervision.Operation: Operate CNC machines safely and efficiently according to work instructions, engineering drawings, and production schedules. Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations from specifications.Quality Inspection: Perform in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges) to ensure adherence to specified dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes.Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Identify and troubleshoot basic machine operating problems (e.g., tool wear, material issues). Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and checking fluid levels. Report major mechanical or programming issues to supervisors or maintenance staff.Blueprint & Drawing Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications, including understanding Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Tool Management: Monitor tool wear and replace worn or broken tools.
