Prepare Bill of Materials (BOMs), engineering specifications, and technical documentation for production and procurement teams. Manufacturing Support & Process Optimization:Oversee the fabrication, machining, assembly, and testing of mechanical parts or machinery to ensure strict adherence to design specifications. Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Lean/5S principles to reduce production waste, scrap, and manufacturing costs. Monitor equipment performance, identify root causes of mechanical failures, and implement corrective or preventive actions (CAPA). Testing, Quality & Maintenance:Plan and execute prototype testing, trial runs, and quality inspections using precision measuring instruments. Coordinate and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for plant machinery, utilities, and tools. Ensure 100% compliance with local factory rules, safety regulations (EHS), and ISO/ASME quality standards.

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer to develop and prepare designs, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and technical documentation for modular panels, cleanroom panels, partitions, ceilings, doors, and allied engineering products. The candidate will work closely with the Project, Production, Quality, Purchase, and Installation teams to ensure that designs are technically accurate, manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet customer/project requirements. Candidates with experience in modular panel design, sheet-metal fabrication, cleanroom systems, doors, or similar engineering products will be preferred. Key Responsibilities Design & Engineering Prepare detailed 2D and 3D designs for modular panels, partitions, ceilings, doors, and related components. Develop fabrication and shop drawings based on customer requirements, architectural drawings, BOQs, and project specifications. Prepare panel layouts, assembly drawings, sections, elevations, details, and installation drawings. Design panel joints, profiles, trims, flashings, frames, hardware, and other associated components. Ensure designs are suitable for manufacturing, installation, and maintenance. Review designs for functionality, dimensional accuracy, material optimization, and ease of fabrication. Cleanroom & Modular Panel Design Develop designs for different types of modular cleanroom panels and systems. Prepare layouts for walls, ceilings, partitions, doors, windows, covings, and accessories. Understand requirements related to panel thickness, core materials, skins, profiles, joints, and finishes. Coordinate design requirements for cleanroom doors, vision panels, pass boxes, and other allied products where applicable. Ensure designs meet project specifications and customer requirements. Engineering Drawings & Documentation Prepare detailed GA drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and installation drawings. Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), cutting lists, material specifications, and quantity take-offs. Maintain proper revision control and ensure updated drawings are issued to relevant departments. Incorporate customer comments and engineering changes into drawings. Prepare technical documentation required for production and project execution. Coordination Coordinate with Project, Production, Purchase, Quality, and Installation teams for smooth execution. Discuss design requirements and technical issues with customers, consultants, and project teams when required. Work with production teams to resolve fabrication-related design issues. Visit manufacturing facilities or project sites when required to understand and resolve technical issues. Provide technical support during manufacturing and installation. Design Optimization Identify opportunities for material optimization, cost reduction, standardization, and design improvement. Develop standardized designs and components for repetitive products. Reduce fabrication complexity, material wastage, and installation time. Ensure designs are practical and economical without compromising quality. Quality & Compliance Ensure drawings comply with approved specifications, tolerances, and applicable standards. Verify critical dimensions, interfaces, and installation requirements before releasing drawings. Support Quality and Production teams in resolving drawing-related nonconformities. Maintain accurate engineering records and revision history. Required Qualifications Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. 2-6 years of relevant design experience, preferably in modular panels, cleanrooms, sheet-metal fabrication, doors, partitions, or allied engineering products. Strong ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings. Experience in modular cleanroom panels, cleanroom doors, partitions, ceilings, sheet-metal products, or allied engineering products will be preferred.

Own the design and production department end-to-end - from concept and design through prototyping, vendor development, production ramp-up, and quality release. Design and detail mechanical components and enclosures (e.g., die-cast housings, EV powertrainadjacent parts) using CAD, with a strong focus on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA). Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors and suppliers (die-casting, CNC machining, sheet metal, tooling, electronics assembly, etc.), and build a reliable, cost-effective vendor base for the company. Work closely with vendors on tooling, sampling, first-article inspection, and production readiness; negotiate cost, lead time, and quality terms. Partner closely with the Production team to plan, set up, and run manufacturing/assembly processes, and to troubleshoot issues on the shop floor. Partner closely with the Quality team to define inspection standards, resolve non-conformances, and drive continuous improvement in yield and reliability. Prepare and maintain drawings, BOMs, specifications, and SOPs for components, sub-assemblies, and the final product.Support prototyping and testing of new components and design iterations in coordination with the technical/patent team. Track production costs, vendor performance, and quality metrics, and report status regularly to the founder/management.
