- Prepare authentic South Indian dishes:
The South Indian Cook will be responsible for preparing a variety of traditional South Indian dishes such as dosas, idlis, sambhar, chutneys, and rice dishes with the right balance of flavors and spices.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen:
Ensuring that the kitchen is clean, organized, and follows proper hygiene standards to ensure the safety of the food being prepared.
- Source and purchase quality ingredients:
Responsibility for sourcing and purchasing fresh and high-quality ingredients like vegetables, spices, and other necessary items for cooking South Indian cuisine.
- Customize dishes to meet dietary restrictions:
Ability to customize dishes based on dietary restrictions or preferences of customers, ensuring that all meals are prepared to meet individual needs.
- Monitor and manage kitchen inventory:
Keeping track of inventory, ordering supplies as needed, and managing stock levels to avoid any disruptions in the cooking process.
Required Skills and Expectations:
- Demonstrated experience in cooking South Indian cuisine for at least 7-13 years.
- Strong knowledge of traditional South Indian recipes and cooking techniques.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
