as a purchase manager in the food & beverage industry, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of raw materials, ingredients, packaging materials, and other supplies necessary for our production operations. you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely availability of quality products to meet production demands while optimizing costs and maintaining strong vendor relationships.

key responsibilities:

vendor management: identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, quality, and timely deliveries.

inventory management: maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production schedules and minimize holding costs.

quality assurance: ensure that all purchased items meet quality standards and regulatory requirements, and work with suppliers to resolve quality issues.

cost optimization: continuously analyze and seek opportunities to reduce procurement costs while maintaining quality standards.

contract management: develop and manage procurement contracts, agreements, and supplier relationships to ensure favorable terms.

market analysis: stay up-to-date with industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and emerging suppliers to make informed procurement decisions.

forecasting: collaborate with the production and planning teams to forecast procurement needs accurately.

compliance: ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.

team collaboration: coordinate with cross-functional teams, including production, logistics, and finance, to ensure smooth operations.

reporting: generate regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.

qualifications:

bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.

minimum of 4 years of experience in procurement, with at least 2 years in the food & beverage industry.

strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain vendor relationships.
