Job Description

keys duties:

1) ensure availability of the latest drawings and customer’s requirements including approved quality assurance plan if required from by qc.

2) ensure that production activities are carried out as specified in relevant quality assurance plan, and applicable drawings & required measuring & monitoring equipment.

3) based on availability of men, machine and material production in-charge shall plan the daily workload; develop production schedules, duty assignments. allocate the work to the workers and record in the daily production report.

4) monitor the production processes, adjust schedules as needed, estimate costs and setting the quality standards, monitor product standards and implement quality-control programs.

5) identify critical operation and issue work instruction if required.

6) decide process specification and capabilities required and arrange to get it qualified accordingly. eg. welding procedures.

7) decide and plan for the activities to be subcontracted and to be carried out in shop. production in-charge can decide on shifting of certain operations from in-house to vendor and vice-versa depending on delivery schedule and capacity available

8) analyze and reduce costs, ensure that the production is cost effective, products are produced on time and are of good quality.

9) manage communication lines with managers, suppliers, and procurement departments, coordinate and liaise with different departments in the manufacturing plant,suppliers, managers and work with outside suppliers to increase quality of raw materials

10) ensure compliance with workplace safety programs, health and safety guidelines are followed.

11) hire, train, and supervise workers, reviewworker performance and identify training needssupervise and motivate a team of workers,cross-train worker teams for maximum production flexibility.

12) purchase and calibrate machines,test machines for disrepair and malfunctions.
