cabin crew members are responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of passengers during flights. they represent the airline’s image and deliver exceptional in-flight service while maintaining strict adherence to aviation safety standards. the role demands professionalism, confidence, and the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and efficiently.
key responsibilities
🧠 safety & security duties
conduct pre-flight safety checks and ensure all safety equipment is functional.
demonstrate and explain safety procedures to passengers before takeoff.
ensure passenger compliance with seat belt, luggage, and electronic device regulations.
handle in-flight emergencies, including administering first aid when required.
communicate effectively with the flight deck crew and ground staff regarding safety issues.
maintain security vigilance throughout the flight, identifying and addressing suspicious behavior or items.
💬 passenger service
welcome passengers on board and assist them in finding their seats.
provide information about flight schedules, onboard facilities, and safety guidelines.
serve meals, snacks, and beverages efficiently and courteously.
respond promptly to passenger requests and concerns.
handle special passenger requirements (., elderly, children, passengers with disabilities, vips).
assist during boarding and disembarkation to ensure a smooth flow of passengers.
💼 operational & administrative tasks
prepare and submit flight reports after each trip.
manage onboard inventory such as meals, beverages, and duty-free items.
conduct pre- and post-flight checks to ensure the aircraft cabin is clean and organized.
record and report any incidents, service issues, or passenger complaints.
coordinate with ground staff for cabin preparations and passenger assistance.

dgca-approved cabin crew course (for indian airlines)
experience
entry level: freshers with strong communication and presentation skills may apply.
experienced: prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or cabin crew roles preferred.
physical & appearance standards
pleasant personality and well-groomed appearance
good health and fitness (meeting airline medical standards)
vision: correctable to 6/6
height: typically 155 cm (female) / 170 cm (male) minimum (varies by airline)
no visible tattoos or body piercings when in uniform
work environment
long working hours, including weekends and holidays
frequent travel and layovers in different cities/countries
exposure to varying climates and time zones
