Job Summary:
An Air Cargo Executive is responsible for handling, coordinating, and managing air freight operations at airports or cargo terminals. The role involves booking shipments, preparing documentation, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations, coordinating with airlines and customs authorities, and ensuring safe and timely delivery of cargo.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cargo Booking & Documentation
Process cargo bookings for domestic and international shipments.
Prepare Air Way Bills (AWB), invoices, shipping bills, and other cargo documents.
Verify cargo details including weight, dimensions, and classification.
Ensure accurate data entry in cargo management systems.
2. Cargo Handling & Operations
Supervise loading and unloading of cargo.
Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and handling of goods.
Coordinate with warehouse staff and ground handling teams.
Monitor shipment movement and update customers on status.
3. Customs & Regulatory Compliance
Coordinate with customs officials for clearance procedures.
Ensure compliance with DGCA, IATA, and airline cargo regulations.
Handle documentation for import/export shipments.
Follow safety guidelines for dangerous goods and special cargo.
4. Customer Service
Communicate with clients regarding booking, shipment status, and delays.
Resolve cargo-related queries and complaints.
Provide freight rate information and shipping options.
5. Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with airlines, freight forwarders, and transport agencies.
Maintain cargo records and prepare daily/weekly reports.
Track performance metrics such as shipment timelines and damages.
Required Skills
Knowledge of air cargo procedures and documentation.
Basic understanding of import/export regulations.
Computer proficiency (MS Office, cargo software).
Good communication and customer service skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Educational Qualification
Graduation in any discipline (preferred: Logistics, Aviation, or Commerce).
Diploma/Certificate in Air Cargo Management or Aviation (advantage).
Knowledge of cargo software systems is a plus.
Experience Requirements
Freshers can apply for entry-level roles.
1–3 years experience in cargo, logistics, or freight forwarding preferred.
