An Air Cargo Executive is responsible for handling cargo operations related to the transportation of goods through airlines. The role includes booking shipments, preparing cargo documentation, coordinating with airlines and customers, ensuring cargo safety and compliance, and monitoring import/export activities. The executive ensures smooth cargo movement while following aviation and customs regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Cargo Handling & Operations
Coordinate domestic and international air cargo shipments.
Manage cargo booking, acceptance, loading, unloading, and delivery.
Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and storage of cargo.
Monitor cargo movement and shipment tracking.
Handle fragile, perishable, hazardous, and valuable cargo according to aviation guidelines.
Documentation
Prepare and verify:
Air Way Bills (AWB)
Shipping Bills
Cargo manifests
Customs documents
Import/export documentation
Maintain accurate cargo records and reports.
Ensure compliance with airline and airport regulations.
Customer Service
Communicate with clients regarding shipment schedules and delivery updates.
Resolve customer queries, complaints, and shipment issues.
Coordinate with freight forwarders, transporters, and customs agents.
Coordination & Logistics
Coordinate with:
Airlines
Ground handling staff
Customs authorities
Warehouse teams
Freight forwarding companies
Arrange transportation and cargo transfers.
Safety & Compliance
Follow aviation safety and security procedures.
Ensure cargo complies with IATA and DGCA regulations.
Handle dangerous goods as per safety standards.
Conduct cargo inspections when required.
Inventory & Warehouse Management
Monitor warehouse stock and cargo inventory.
Ensure proper cargo storage conditions.
Maintain cleanliness and safety in cargo areas.
Reporting
Prepare daily operational reports.
Maintain shipment tracking records.
Update management on delays, damages, or operational issues.

Salary (India Approx.)
Fresher: ₹20,000 - ₹30,000 per month
Experienced: ₹35,000 - ₹1,00,000+ per month
