Job Title: Gents Tailor Job SummaryTo construct, alter, modify, and repair high-quality men's clothing (suits, trousers, shirts, jackets) according to client specifications, ensuring a perfect fit, excellent craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction. Key ResponsibilitiesClient Consultation: Discussing design, measurements, fabric choices, and alteration needs with male clients.Measurement & Pattern: Taking accurate body measurements and creating or adapting custom patterns.Cutting: Accurately cutting fabric using patterns and appropriate tools (hand/electric cutters).Sewing & Assembly: Operating industrial sewing machines and performing hand-stitching for garment construction and finishing.Alterations & Repairs:Modifying existing garments, repairing damage, and restyling outdated items.Fittings: Fitting garments on clients, marking adjustments, and ensuring proper drape and proportions.Finishing: Pressing, ironing, adding buttons, zippers, linings, and ensuring a professional finish.Quality Control: Inspecting finished garments for quality, removing chalk marks, and preparing for pickup.Workspace Maintenance: Keeping tools, machines, and work area clean and organized.Trend Awareness: Staying updated on men's fashion trends, fabrics, and tailoring techniques. Requirements & SkillsProven experience as a tailor, preferably with men's formal wear/bespoke tailoring.Expertise in garment construction, pattern making, and alteration techniques for menswear.Proficiency with industrial sewing machines and various hand-sewing methods.Strong understanding of fabrics, textiles, and their behavior.Exceptional attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.Excellent communication, listening, and customer service skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple orders.Problem-solving skills to address complex fitting challenges.
